Hospital staff claim they were banned from handing out hot cross buns this Easter in case they upset non-Christians.

The decision disappointed patients at Poole Hospital in Dorset and angered catering staff.

In an email to their local paper, sent on Good Friday, catering staff said: 'We the kitchen staff of Poole Hospital were disgusted to find that the patients were not getting hot cross buns this morning.

"The manager of the catering department said he was worried about the ethnic minorities that work here."

The workers, who did not want to be named, said they had been inundated with calls from nurses on the wards asking why there were no buns this year.

Eventually hospital bosses relented and they were distributed on Easter Monday.[...]

UK: Muslim Takes Sauna in Hijab

More political correctness gone mad in Britain.

The Sun via Dhimmi Watch: A MUSLIM woman in full hijab robes was allowed to swelter in a SAUNA because worried staff did not want to offend her.

She then jumped into the sports centre’s swimming pool to cool off while still wearing the black top-to-toe Islamic dress.

Staff did not know if they should enforce a dress code which asks customers to wear SUITABLE clothes.

People in the sauna — all wearing normal swimming cossies — were amazed as the woman joined them in the steam room in her robes.

Last night surprised Muslim spokesman Taj Hargey asked: “How can you swim properly if you wear a hijab?”

After ten minutes in the sauna and ten minutes in the pool the mystery woman changed out of her wet hijab into a dry one in the changing rooms and left alone.

Yesterday members of the David Lloyd Leisure centre in Oxford said they were baffled by the women’s actions.

Club member Ian Caldwell, 46, was sitting in the sauna when the fully-dressed woman walked in.

He said: “I pointed out that it was a sauna and asked her if it was appropriate. All the other women in there were all in bathing costumes.

“When I saw her in the pool later, she was still wearing the Islamic outfit.

“The pool attendant said she was allowed to wear this due to her religious customs. It was just political correctness gone completely barmy. I told the manager that it was my custom to attend saunas naked, as they do in Sweden, and said I trusted he would find that equally acceptable.

“But to be serious, this is a question of hygiene, not religious rights.”

University Of Leeds Cancels Talk On Islamic Extremism and its Links With Nazi Germany Over "Security Concerns"

A leading university has been accused of “selling out” academic freedom of speech by scrapping a talk on links between the Nazis and Islamic anti-semitism after allegedly receiving emails from Muslims protesting about the event.

Matthias Küntzel, a German author and political scientist who specialises in the threat of Islamic fundamentalism, was told yesterday by the University of Leeds that a talk scheduled for yesterday evening, and a two-day workshop, on Hitler’s Legacy: Islamic Anti-semitism in the Middle East, had been cancelled because of security fears.

In a statement yesterday, two academics in the Leeds German department, which had organised the event, claimed the university had bowed “to Muslim protests”. Dr Küntzel said he had given similar addresses around the world and there had been no problems.

He added: “I was told it was for security reasons - that they cannot shelter my person. But I don’t feel in any way threatened. I know this is sometimes a controversial topic but I am accustomed to that and I have the ability to calm people down. It’s not a problem for me at all. My impression was that they wanted to avoid the issue in order to keep the situation calm. My feeling is that this is a kind of censorship.” ...

Dr Annette Seidel Arpaci and Morten Hunke, both members of the German department, said in a statement yesterday: ”The reason the university gives for the cancellation of the talk and seminars by Dr Küntzel are security concerns. These concerns are founded on emails received by the office of the Vice Chancellor. The sudden cancellation is a sell-out of academic freedom, especially freedom of speech, at the University of Leeds.“

One of the protest emails, from a student who describes himself as ”of both Middle Eastern and Islamic background”, complained that the title of the event was “profoundly offensive”. It added: ”To insinuate that there is a direct link between Islam and anti-semitism is not only a sweeping generalisation but also an erroneous statement that holds no essence of truth.”

However, last night the university denied the claims. It said: "The decision to cancel the meeting has nothing to do with academic freedom, freedom of speech, anti-semitism or Islamophobia and those claiming that is the case are making mischief. Nor are we bowing to threats or protests from interest groups. The meeting has been cancelled on safety grounds alone and because - contrary to our rules - no assessment of risk to people or property has been carried out, no stewarding arrangements are in place and we were not given sufficient notice to ensure safety and public order.”

Daily Express: Muslims: ‘Ban’ Un-Islamic Schools

DEMANDS for a ban on “un-Islamic” activities in schools will be set out by the Muslim Council of Britain today.

Targets include playground games, swimming lessons, school plays, parents’ evenings and even vaccinations.

And the calls for all children to be taught in Taliban-style conditions will be launched with the help of a senior Government education adviser.

Professor Tim Brighouse, chief adviser to London schools, was due to attend the event at the capital’s biggest mosque.

His presence there was seen as “deeply worrying”, and a sign that the report was backed by the Government.

Tory MP Greg Hands said: “The MCB needs to realise it has to move closer to the rest of the community, not away from it.

“The presence of Tim Brighouse implies Government back­ing of this report. This is very worrying.”

Terry Sanderson of the National Secular Society said the report was a “recipe for disaster”.

He added: “Schools with even just a handful of Muslim kids will find they have to follow these guidelines because there aren’t the staff to have one set of classes for Muslims and another for the rest.

“The MCB shouldn’t try to force its religious agenda on children who may not want it. The Government needs to send the MCB packing. Schools should be about teaching, not preaching.”

The report, Towards Greater Understanding – Meeting The Needs of Muslim Pupils In State Schools, says all schools should bring in effective bans for all pupils on “un-Islamic activities” like dance classes.

It also wants to limit certain activities during Ramadan. They include science lessons dealing with sex, parents’ evenings, exams and immunisation programmes.

The holy month – when eating and drinking is not allowed in daylight hours – should also see a ban on swimming lessons in case pupils swallow water in
the pool.

When swimming is allowed, boys should wear clothing covering their bodies “from the navel to the neck”, even during single-sex pool sessions, while girls must be covered up completely at all times, apart from the face and hands.

The MCB adds that schools should ensure contact sports, including football and basketball, “are always in single-gender groups”.

Even school trips are targeted in the report, which wants them all to be made single-sex “to encourage greater participation from Muslim pupils”.

It wants Arabic language classes for Muslim pupils, and says the Koran should be recited in music classes. And all schools should ensure they have prayer rooms with washing facilities attached, it says.

In art classes, Muslim children should not be allowed to draw people, as this is forbidden under some interpretations of Islamic law.

And while the MCB insists that all British children should learn about Islam, it wants Muslims to have the right to withdraw their children from RE lessons dealing with Christianity and other faiths.

The MCB says special treatment and opt-outs are necessary because otherwise Muslim pupils will feel excluded from school activities and lessons.

The MCB claims to be the voice of Britain’s 1.5million Muslims and was heavily courted by politicians including Tony Blair following the September 11 attacks. Its former secretary-general Iqbal Sacranie was awarded a knighthood in 2005.

But other Muslim groups criticised the report. Dr Ghayasuddin Siddiqui of the Muslim Parliament of Great Britain said: “There has been no discussion on these issues in the Muslim community.”

And the Sufi Muslim Council – which claims to represent far more British Muslims than the MCB – said the report misunderstood Ramadan.

It added: “This is not what Islam or Ramadan is about. Ramadan is about training yourself while carrying on with everyday life.”

The Department for Edu­cation tried to distance itself from the report last night, and insisted Professor Brighouse was attending the launch only in a “personal capacity”.

A spokesman said it would read the report “with interest”.

UK Report: Terror Threat Worst Since 9/11

A British intelligence report finds that the terror threat has been underestimated and suggests the security services' job will only get harder.

The terrorist threat facing Britain from home-grown al-Qaeda agents is higher than at any time since the September 11 attacks in 2001, secret intelligence documents reveal.

The number of British-based Islamic terrorists plotting suicide attacks against "soft" targets in this country is far greater than the Security Services had previously believed, the government paperwork discloses. It is thought the plotters could number more than 2,000.

Under the heading "International Terrorism in the UK", the document - seen by The Sunday Telegraph - states: "The scale of al-Qaeda's ambitions towards attacking the UK and the number of UK extremists prepared to participate in attacks are even greater than we had previously judged."

It warns that terrorist "attack planning" against Britain will increase in 2007, and adds: "We still believe that AQ [al-Qaeda] will continue to seek opportunities for mass casualty attacks against soft targets and key infrastructure. These attacks are likely to involve the use of suicide operatives."

[...] Eliza Manningham-Buller, the director general of MI5, warned recently that there were more than 1,600 "identified individuals" actively engaged in plotting terrorist attacks. There were 200 known networks involved in at least 30 terrorist plots. It is thought that the number of British citizens involved in plots could be well in excess of 2,000.

MI5 believes that soft targets, such as the transport system and economic targets such as the City of London and Canary Wharf, are most at risk.

A senior political source said the picture painted by the document was "particularly bleak and unlikely to improve for several years". [...]

Daily Mail: Disaffected, raging, and hungry for the harsh finality of Sharia law

[...] On the streets of Sparkbrook yesterday, angry young Muslims denounced British culture and said we would be all better off living under Sharia law.

"What are your Western values?" said one young man in traditional Islamic dress. "Your youngsters get drunk and fight outside the bars in the city centre. Even the women do it."

"I don't want to live a Western lifestyle," added a woman whose face was covered by a veil. "I would like to live by Sharia law. That is my choice."

[...] Earlier this week, a survey revealed that nearly four in ten young British Muslims aged 18-24 would prefer to live under Sharia law than British law. The study, commissioned by the Right-wing think-tank Policy Exchange, identified significant support for wearing the veil in public, Islamic schools and even punishment by death for Muslims who convert to another religion.

Most worryingly, 13 per cent of young Muslims said they "admired" organisations such as Al Qaeda which are prepared to "fight the West".

I have spent the past week speaking to young British Muslims in London and Birmingham and it becomes clear while speaking to young people that a significant minority feel a growing sense of alienation from mainstream British society - which in turn leads to a rejection of British cultural values - because of what they say is the persecution and murder of Muslims in Iraq.

Sharia law, those young British Muslims argue, is a way of life which embraces a superior moral code to that of modern Britain.

Wearing the veil is not a sign of subservience but that a woman has "self-respect". There is a growing repugnance at British society, the binge drinking, the promiscuity, the perceived "decadence".

[...] A few stalls away, another man selling groceries summed up the feeling in one succinct sentence. "There is a sense of them and us now."

The lines are drawn. And while few presently have the appetite actually to do anything to turn Britain into an Islamic state living under Sharia law, momentum is growing.

A few miles away from Whitechapel in East Ham, an indication of this could be found in around half a dozen garish yellow and black flyers that were haphazardly plastered across bus shelters, traffic lights and road signs. Sharia law, they proclaimed to passers-by, was "the only option for the UK".

Alongside this dramatic declaration was an image of the Palace of Westminster. An unidentifiable flag - not the familiar British red, white and blue - had been hoisted aloft; sandwiched between Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament was a minaret.

Gous Miah, a 26-year-old shop worker from Bethnal Green, would like to think that this tatty but arresting poster is a vision of the future.

"The British way of life is unacceptable to Muslims," says Mr Miah, who works in a newsagent's shop.

"It is wrong to drink. Look at all the deaths caused by drink-driving. It is wrong for women to wear skirts. Women should be covered up at all times, and it is wrong for British politicians to try to change that."

He says Britain is "too soft" on criminals. The penalties for criminals under Sharia law might be harsh - some would say barbaric - but Mr Miah argues that they serve as a highly effective deterrent.

"British law is not acceptable to Muslims - it is too soft. There are people committing horrendous crimes and getting away with it. Things would be better if we lived under Sharia law.

"We don't want to be like the non-Muslims who smoke, drink and are promiscuous. That is why young Muslims are breaking away from British society - the cultures are too different. Blair and Bush are spreading the hatred."

Ali Khan, an IT worker with an investment bank, says Sharia law is "demonised" in the West. "All you read about is cutting off hands, stoning and beheading people. In fact, it is an entire way of leading your life in an Islamic state, as set out in the Koran, and allows Muslims and non-Muslims to live together peacefully.

"I would prefer to live under it. It is completely different to British law, which is man-made and laid down by a government which is all about greed, corruption and at the beck and call of big business with vested interests.

"I do not admire Al Qaeda, but they are trying to address the issues that all Muslims face, of subjugation of their lands, theft of wealth and oppression of their people."

Abdul Hussain, 21, works in a shop in East Ham. He says there is a moral dimension to Sharia that is appealing.

"Sharia law covers all our social and financial affairs as well as crime. We are supposed to give a fortieth of our wealth to the poor and are not allowed to charge interest on loans, for example."

He believes the values of Westerners are shallow. "I think an Islamic school would be a good option for my children. I went to a normal Western school and it messed up my head having to listen to non-Muslims talking about sex and rubbish all day long.

"The punishments under Sharia law are tough, but they do stop crime. If you know you are going to be stoned or beheaded for adultery, you don't commit adultery."

Ismail Ali, a 27-year-old delivery driver from Bethnal Green, objects to the "lack of modesty" that pervades British society.

"It is easy to understand why young Muslims are turning their backs on the British way of life," he says. "Your politicians tell us women should not wear the hijab, but you have naked women on the front of newspapers. Images like that lead to rape.

[...] Khalid Kelly, an Irish Muslim convert, was a member of the now disbanded hardline Islamic organisation Al-Mujaharoun and now describes himself as an independent Muslim preacher.

"The ultimate goal of every Muslim is to establish Sharia law over the whole Earth," he says. "It is a superior way of life and every Muslim living in the UK has an obligation to call for Sharia law to be implemented.

"We believe in jihad, which literally means to struggle. It is not allowed for a Muslim to obey a man-made system of laws that is prone to errors.

"Sharia law is a perfect system of divine law and order that the whole world should live under.

"Everything you have in the West is wrong. We should be in charge over you. If Sharia law prevailed, it would change everything.

"Alcohol would be outlawed and it would be illegal for any woman to leave the house unless she had her whole body and head covered. Everything would change for the better - it is sadly and badly needed."

Kelly holds in high esteem the men who carried out the 7/7 bombings in London. "The martyrs who carried out the bombings on July 7 were praiseworthy and correct.

"We have to spread Sharia law and put fear into the head of the enemy."

A Muslim leader has warned that Britain is moving towards a “police state,” comparing the situation to Nazi Germany after the anti-terror raids in the city of Birmingham this week.

But Mohammad Naseem, chairman of Birmingham’s Central Mosque, urged Muslims to show restraint following the raids, in which nine suspects were arrested over allegations of plotting an “Iraq-style” kidnapping and filmed beheading.

“The country is moving toward a police state. That’s not right. We have to change this,” he said inside the mosque, where some 2,000 Muslims gathered for weekly Friday prayers.

“We can change this for the better by coming together, not by coming apart. .. Remain calm, don’t get angry. Anger is a natural emotion, but Muslims should control it. We must never give way to anger,” he said.

Speaking outside the mosque shortly before the prayer session began, he compared the current situation, and anti-terrorism legislation introduced in Britain in recent years, to Nazi Germany.

“The German people were told the Jews were a threat. The same thing is happening here. The Muslims are now the bogey people,” he said. “It’s a small community. It’s easy to pick on them. That’s what’s being done.”

So Much For The "Tiny Minority™" Of Muslim Extremists

Michael Freund is spot on with The straightforward arithmetic of jihad (h/t LGF).

It’s time we open our eyes and confront reality. Ever since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the media has sought to reassure us that only a tiny minority of Muslims actually support the use of violence against Israel and the West.

It’s just a small fringe, a marginal few at best, they tell us, so don’t worry about it all too much. One percent or three percent - who cares? Just sit back, enjoy your morning eggs and coffee and have a nice day.

But a look at the numbers tells a very different story. The extent of support for global jihad is frightening in its proportions, and the numbers are anything but insignificant.

Consider, for example, the following statistics regarding support for suicide bombings and other types of terror attacks.

In a poll conducted five months ago, and broadcast on Britain’s Channel 4 TV, nearly 25% of British Muslims said the July 7, 2005, terror bombings in London, which killed 52 innocent commuters, were justified. Another 30% said they would prefer to live under strict Islamic Sharia law rather than England’s democratic system.

Now, one in four justifying terror may not be a majority, but it certainly isn’t a “small fringe” either.

In other countries, the figures are no less unsettling. A survey published in December found that 44% of Nigerian Muslims believe suicide bombing attacks are “often” or “sometimes” acceptable. Only 28% said they were never justified.

According to the annual Pew Global Attitudes Survey, released in July 2006, “roughly one-in-seven Muslims in France, Spain and Great Britain feel that suicide bombings against civilian targets can at least sometimes be justified to defend Islam.” The report also found that less than half of Jordan’s Muslims believe terror attacks are never justified. In Egypt, only 45% of Muslims say terror is never justified.

40% of Young British Muslims Want Sharia - In Britain

A recent poll of UK Muslims' views has the following alarming - though not surprising - findings.

The Daily Mail: The doctrine of multi-culturalism has alienated an entire generation of young Muslims and made them increasingly radical, a report has found.

In stark contrast with their parents, growing numbers sympathise with extreme teachings of Islam, with almost four in ten wanting to live under Sharia law in Britain.

• [...] 13 per cent of young Muslims said they "admired" organisations such as Al Qaeda which are prepared to "fight the West".

• [...] While only 17 per cent of over-55s said they would prefer to live under Sharia law, that increased to 37 per cent of those aged 16 to 24.

• [...] If a Muslim converts to another religion, 36 per cent of 16-to-24-year-olds thought this should be punished by death, compared with 19 per cent of 55s and over.

• [...] According to the poll, 74 per cent of those aged 16 to 24 prefer Muslim women to wear the veil, compared with only 28 per cent of over 55s.

British prosecutors have accused six suspects of mounting "an extremist Muslim plot" using suicide bombers to try to kill masses of London commuters in July 2005, days after a successful terror attack.

At the start of a long-awaited trial Monday, the six Muslims were alleged to have tried to carry out another series of "murderous suicide bombings" on July 21, two weeks to the day after July 7 attacks which left 56 people dead.

The plot to blow up three subway trains and a bus only failed because detonators did not work properly, leaving four attempted suicide bombers with their unexploded devices, Britain's highest-security court heard in Woolwich, southeast London.

In what is likely to become one of the most high-profile cases involving alleged terrorism seen in Britain, the accused deny charges of conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause explosions likely to endanger life.

The trial of Muktar Said Ibrahim, 28, Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, 32, Hussain Osman, 28, Yassin Omar, 26, Ramzi Mohammed, 25, and Adel Yahya, 24 -- many of whom are of east African origin -- is expected to take up to four months.

Times Online: The architect’s vision is of a 21st-century Alhambra, a place for prayer, education, debate and the celebration of Islamic culture.

But the plan to build Europe’s biggest mosque beside the London 2012 Olympic Park is attracting opposition from the Muslim community.

The concern is not the building, but the activities of Tablighi Jamaat, the ultra-orthodox sect that is behind the huge mosque.

A petition against the scheme, organised by Muslims in the East London borough of Newham, attracted 2,500 signatures in only ten days and is continuing to draw support. It says that allowing Tablighi Jamaat to build the mosque would aggravate community tensions.

Ruth Kelly, the Communities and Local Government Secretary, who is currently redrawing the Government’s approach to engagement with the Muslim community, is aware of the East London petition. She has the power to subject the plans to a public inquiry.

The scheme for the mosque, drawn up by the award- winning architects, MYAA, envisages a complex containing an Islamic garden, school and prayer space for as many as 70,000 worshippers — 23 times greater than the capacity of Liverpool cathedral, Britain’s largest Christian place of worship.

Newham Council signed a memorandum of agreement in 2001 with the charity behind the scheme, the Anjuman-E- Islahul Muslimeen, which states it has “no objection in principle to . . . a major new, high-quality mosque”.

But there are mounting concerns about Tablighi Jamaat and its strict interpretation of Islam.

A leaked FBI memo, obtained by US news media in 2005, raised fears that al- Qaeda was using membership of Tablighi Jamaat “as cover . . . to network with other extremists in the US”.

A number of British terrorists have had associations with the organisation, including Richard Reid, the shoe bomber now in prison in the US. Mohammad Sidique Khan and Shehzad Tanweer, two of the July 7 bombers, had links with the large Tablighi Jamaat mosque in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

The sect’s leading scholars encourage its followers to be aloof from politics and the secular world, but security agencies fear that its brand of orthodoxy provides a fertile recruiting ground for terrorists.

Dr Irfan al-Alawi, Europe director of the Centre for Islamic Pluralism, is “extremely concerned” about the spread of Tablighi Jamaat and recently addressed a seminar at the Policy Exchange think-tank about the mosque plans. “Tablighi are not moderate Muslims, they are a separatist movement,” he said.

“If this mosque were to go ahead it will be strictly run by the Tablighis; there will be no room for moderates.”

Sharia, derived from several sources including the Koran, is applied to varying degrees in predominantly Muslim countries but it has no binding status in Britain.

The Telegraph: British Muslims volunteering to fight against coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan are being sent back to Britain to become al-Qaeda “sleeper” agents, The Sunday Telegraph has learned.

MI5 agents believe that young Asian men, who have been trained to take part in the so-called “global jihad” in al-Qaeda camps in Pakistan and Afghanistan, are now regarded as too valuable an asset to be used fighting British and American troops.

MI5 and MI6 are working on the assumption that they are being ordered to return to their communities in Britain with instructions to establish secret, autonomous cells and to conduct independent terrorists operations without any direct input from al-Qaeda’s high command.

Security sources claim that al-Qaeda is unlikely to send a British passport holder to his death as a suicide bomber in Iraq when he would be far more valuable as a “sleeper” in Britain.

MI5 fears that it is impossible to estimate how many British Muslims have attended training camps over the past decade or how many are back in the UK planning attacks.

In this country a person cannot be sacked for what their parents do. It is the actions of Mohammed Kamel Mostafa himself which are relevant. However, Mr Mostafa has convictions in Yemen. These must be taken into account. They should have been brought to light by those doing the security checks, the failure to do so must be investigated. As he failed to declare these to the subcontractor they are correct to dismiss him.

The story: Livingstone backs terrorist's Tube job

Daily Mail: Ken Livingstone today defended the right of Abu Hamza's son to work for a Tube contractor - despite his conviction for terrorism in Yemen.

Mohammed Kamel Mostafa, 25, from Wembley, was given a security pass and had access to restricted areas - including tunnels under Parliament - during his time as a labourer at nights and weekends on the Underground.

But the Mayor said he doubted the veracity of any conviction from Yemen and said Mostafa had passed Tube security checks.

He said it was wrong to restrict his ability to work simply because he was the son of Abu Hamza. Mr Livingstone said: “Has he broken any laws here in Britain? The answer is no. We are happy to have him working for us.”

Britain now top target for Al-Qaeda

LONDON (AFP) - Britain is the top target of the Al-Qaeda terrorist network, which now presents a bigger threat than ever before, a newspaper reported.

Citing unnamed anti-terrorism chiefs, The Guardian newspaper said that Al-Qaeda had regrouped and recovered its organisation in Pakistan, despite a more-than-four-year campaign by a US-led coalition to wipe out the network. In that time, the newspaper reported, the terror organisation has become a more coherent network with a regular supply of volunteers.

Islamic extremists “viewed 7/7 (the July 7, 2005 suicide attacks on London’s transport network) as just the beginning,” an unnamed senior source said. “Al-Qaeda sees the UK as a massive opportunity to cause loss of life and embarrassment to the authorities,” the source continued.

Meanwhile, another unnamed source told the daily: “Britain is sitting at the receiving end of an Al-Qaeda campaign.”

Britain is seen as an easier threat for Al-Qaeda than many other countries because of its historic links with Pakistan, with tens of thousands of travellers between the two countries each year, the newspaper reported.

Add PC, multiculti and a dhimmi attitude to that.

Blair: Britain Needs Debate About Islam

Wow. Blair has progressed from Islam-is-a-religion-of-peace-hijacked-by-a-tiny-minority-of- extremists to let's-have-a-debate-about-Islam.

IHT: LONDON Prime Minister Tony Blair said Tuesday that Britain needed a debate about the position of Muslims, but that the faith also needed to decide how it comes to terms with modernity.

At his monthly news conference, Blair said he supported a local school authority's decision to bar a Muslim woman from working as a teacher while wearing a veil.

He said, however, that should be just one issue in a broader debate about "the relationship between our society and how the Muslim community integrates with our society."

"There's a second issues which is about Islam itself, and how Islam comes to terms with and is comfortable with the modern world," Blair said.

Similar debates, he said, were happening around Europe and in the Muslim world.

UK: 14 y-o Schoolgirl Arrested For Refusing To Study With Non-English Speaking Asians

Daily Mail: A teenage schoolgirl was arrested by police for racism after refusing to sit with a group of Asian students because some of them did not speak English.

Codie Stott's family claim she was forced to spend three-and-a-half hours in a police cell after she was reported by her teachers.

The 14-year-old - who was released without charge - said it had been a simple matter of commonsense and accused the school and police of an over-the-top reaction.

The incident happened in the same local education authority where a ten-year-old boy was prosecuted earlier this year for calling a schoolfriend racist names in the playground, a move branded by a judge "political correctness gone mad."

Codie was attending a GCSE science class at Harrop Fold High School in Worsley, Greater Manchester, when the incident happened.

The teenager had not been in school the day before due to a hospital appointment and had missed the start of a project, so the teacher allocated her a group to sit with.

"She said I had to sit there with five Asian pupils," said Codie yesterday.

"Only one could speak English, so she had to tell that one what to do so she could explain in their language. Then she sat me with them and said 'Discuss'."

According to Codie, the five - four boys and a girl - then began talking in a language she didn't understand, thought to be Urdu, so she went to speak to the teacher.

"I said 'I'm not being funny, but can I change groups because I can't understand them?' But she started shouting and screaming, saying 'It's racist, you're going to get done by the police'."

Codie said she went outside to calm down where another teacher found her and, after speaking to her class teacher, put her in isolation for the rest of the day.

A complaint was made to a police officer based full-time at the school, and more than a week after the incident on September 26 she was taken to Swinton police station and placed under arrest.

"They told me to take my laces out of my shoes and remove my jewellery, and I had my fingerprints and photograph taken," said Codie. "It was awful."

After questioning on suspicion of committing a section five racial public order offence, her mother Nicola says she was placed in a bare cell for three-and-a-half hours then released without charge.

She only returned to lessons this week and has been put in a different science class.

Yesterday Miss Stott, 37, a cleaner, said: "Codie was not being racist." "The reaction from the school and police is totally over the top and I am furious my daughter had to go through this trauma when all she was saying was common sense. "

This story is yet another sign of anarcho-tyranny in the UK.

The less control the authorities have with Muslims, the more control they want to exercise over non-Muslims. As problems in Europe get worse, which they will, the EU will move in an increasingly repressive direction until it either becomes a true, totalitarian entity or falls apart. This strange mix of powerful censorship of public debate, yet little control over public law and order, has by some been labelled anarcho-tyranny.

While Islamic groups in Britain openly brag about how they are going to subdue the country by violent means or call for beheading those insulting Islam, Bryan Cork, 49, of Carlisle, Cumbria, in the Lake District, was sentenced to six months in jail for standing outside a mosque shouting, “Proud to be British,” and “Go back to where you came from.” One British court ruled that even use of the word “immigrant” as an insult could amount to proof of racial hostility.

Doctor (of?) Anthony Edkins is not English. He is, however, headmaster of the very English Harrop Fold School in Worsley, Manchester. He is really rather keen on anti-racism, and appears to have taken to himself and his staff the task of instilling this charming philosophy in his lucky pupils.

The result is that Harrop Fold is rapidly becoming the most heavy-handed, notoriously white-hating school in the country. Last April, a 10-year old boy who, allegedly, had called an 11-year-old mixed-race pupil a ‘Paki’, ‘Bin Laden’ and ‘nigger’ during a playground argument was charged with “a racially aggravated public order offence”.

Robert Spencer of Dhimmi Watch thinks this story means the UK is about to become history and plunge into the Islamic Dark Ages.

This story shows the suicidal madness of multiculturalism. That the U.K. has race laws at all, and that a teenage girl can be jailed for refusing the honor of "discussing" a school project with a group of people who can't speak English, are emblems of a society that has lost all sense of itself and is ripe for conquest. For if the conquerors are of a different race, how will the British possibly muster the will to resist? To do so would be "racism." The U.K. is finished. Finished. It will sooner become an Islamic Republic than it will lift a finger in any "racist" direction.

For "racism" has become the one unpardonable offense above all others, and educational standards, common sense, and common decency all must bow down at the altar of multicultural equality. We can be certain that if a Muslim student had asked to be put in a different group after being assigned to one with four Christian students, not only would the Muslim not have been jailed or punished in any way, but the Christians would have been reprimanded.

Meanwhile, Sharia proponents operate unhindered in the same country, aided and abetted by those race laws.
